Direct answer
Official ReStory mods support is not confirmed. As of August 8, 2026, Steam does not list Workshop and the checked announcements do not document mod tools or a supported API; the in-game Airbrush is a built-in feature, not proof of mod support.
Current support status
A Community Hub question is not a feature announcement. The checked Steam feature list does not include Workshop, and official announcements do not identify mod tools or an API. The accurate current label is “not confirmed.”
That status can change after launch. A future Workshop tab, developer tool, or documentation page should be verified through an official source before this guide recommends it. Local experiments should not be called supported.
Airbrush is not a mod tool
Official demo material describes Airbrush customization as an in-game feature. It lets players change gadgets within the supported game experience. It does not prove that external textures, scripts, or packages can be loaded.
A guide should distinguish built-in customization, official downloadable content, supported configuration, and third-party file replacement. Only the first is clearly documented here. The others need their own official evidence.
Avoid unsafe mod downloads
No DLL, trainer, crack, or replacement executable is distributed through this guide. Back up saves and use only developer-documented sources if supported tools appear later. Stop if a file asks you to disable security software or replace the main executable without official documentation.
For now, use Steam’s normal file-management features and ReStory’s built-in customization. A missing Workshop field does not prove that every experiment is impossible, but it is enough to avoid promising compatibility. Safety takes priority over an unverified download.
